1. Something or someone originating in Scotland. 2. The Doric, sometimes thought of as a dialect of English but this is incorrect. Germanic, has the same root as English. NB - This is sometimes taken to mean "someone who drinks whiskey, eats haggis and regularly says 'och aye Jimmy'". This is highly offensive - I'm Scottish, I like haggis, hate whiskey and... well, the words 'och aye Jimmy' were invented for an English music hall\!

The frequent Anglo-American misuse.

" Also Negroes turned inside out." The Scottish are a cultured and intelligent people who have been discriminated against in both England and America. Believe me, those WASPs weren't always holding parades for us. They used to burn our churchs, lynch us, fire us first, hire us last. Plus, since we were all poor, did all that jigging, and drank a lot they didn't consider us white. They used to call us "negroes turned inside out." So don't take your heritage for granted, my fellow Scottsmen. We've been through a lot. Thats probably why Scottish women are some of the most strong-willed, brave women in the world, a long with black, italian, irish and jewish women. The same goes for our hard-working men, who gave their lives on the assembly lines. Never forget. Know your roots, my fellow Scottsmen. Scottish pride

The coolest guys you will ever meet. Scottish

13. (Scottish) (205↑, 171↓)
People who have back grounds and ancesters who are Scottish and who live and/or come from Scotland. Its a Nationality not a Stereotype. Most of Scots don't wear Kilts. Kilts are a Scottish tradition and are sometimes worn in weddings and shows such as a Ceilidh etc. Hardly ever as general use. Haggis is ate as a remembrance of Robert Burns ate on the 25th Of Febuary. And Whiskey is a drink from Scotland but it drunk all over the world.

A fantastic country to live in with people that just happen to hold a grudge against those that have done them wrong in the past whether they are from another country or not

Im Scottish and I've nothing against the English, I married one. England's past sucks.

18. (Scottish) (49↑, 36↓)
I'm Scottish, so I can tell you that I hate haggis, I don't roll my "r"'s, I don't wear a bloody kilt, and I am not constantly drunk. I'm never drunk. And that "telephone pole toss" is called a "caber toss". Savy?

We're not all drunkards who wear kilts and fight senselessly. Just because we the Scottish the only nation to give the Romans a fight...

19. (Scottish) (176↑, 164↓)
Something or someone who comes from Scotland. I am Scottish & have lived in Scotland all my life & the only time I've seen someone in a kilt is at a wedding, we do wear underwear, no one I know reads oor wullie or the broons, but so what if they did? Some of my best friends are actually English people who live in Scotland & they never suffer from racism and nobody cares that they're English so any English person who does suffer from racism probably provokes it by stereotyping, insulting and generally being racist to the Scottish person to begin with. And, just for the record, most people I know hate haggis.

20. (Scottish) (41↑, 39↓)
A proud nation of people that were born in Scotland. Scottish men wear the traditional kilt at celebrations like weddings. Scottish people vary from sponging scum that don't work, to people that are from hard working class backgrounds, and then there's the posh people from places like Bearsden. Famous Scottish beverages are, Irn Bru which is a soft drink, Whisky - famous the world over, then there's Tennents Lager. Famous Scottish treats are tablet & shortbread. Haggis is something people only usually eat once a year on Burns night. (I am 34, Scottish and never ate haggis and don't plan too thank you. I have never eaten a fried mars bar and don't know any Scottish person that has.) I know some numpty English people that have ate fried mars bars though\! Also it is widely known that Scottish people don't like English people. Most Scottish people love a laugh, have a great sense of humour and know how to throw a great party\! There are many different Scottish accents depending on what area you are from. Scottish people would love to be an independent country separate from England, but the English want to keep a hold of Scotland do bleed the country dry of all money and resources as they know the have a little goldmine in their hands and will never let go. The most common hair colour of Scottish people is actually brunette, then blonde, then very few are red heads/ginger. Also Scottish people are great inventors, think about certain products used over the world and you will usually find that a Scottish person invented it.

21. (Scottish) (12↑, 15↓)
Noun, adj. Generally used outside of Scotland as a gentle way of describing a drunk, job-less, aggressive, half-crazy football supporter with a horrible accent coming from the north who thinks he's the shit. Within Scotland, used synonymously with pride, strength, health, honor and decency. Something everybody knows the Scots for, obviously, not head butts and heroin addiction. Scottish may also be used to describe an excessively stupid act: "stop acting so scottish and put that needle down man\!" Do not confuse with Chav, which, while it is an equally repulsive animal, comes from Kent and Essex, not Glasgow. However, Chav and Scot are not mutually exclusive. Scottish may be used to describe a fat person who deep-fries chocolate, or someone who wouldn't spare a penny to save his dying grand-mother.

I can't believe I just saw this fat, drunk, aggressive, half-crazy, skirt-wearing, money grabbing, heroin addicted, job-less football supporter choke on that deep fried mars bar\!\! He looks really proud of himself too. He must be Scottish.

36. (Scottish) (43↑, 143↓)
Peculiar sub-species of Homo Sapiens, known for its ugliness and garolousness. The typical Scottish 'person' will exhibit excessive amounts of freckles, hair ranging from dark ginger to fair ginger and display a penchant for wearing either a woolen skirt with no underwear to show off their non-existent bollocks or (lately) shiny designer sportswear bought on the cheap from the back of a van. The last point is pertinent as this species is renowned for its tightness- although one can assume that it is neccessary if one is to spend all their money on cheap booze. Apart from this, they exhibit a preference for eating sheeps intestines with a side order of chips with salt and vinegar-oops, my bad- salt with chips and vinegar. This can be substituted with anything deep fried, such as mars bars and bannanas. Their means of communication is by manipulating vocal chords with phlegm and some form of internal biological sandpaper to produce a harsh sound that can best be described as magpie meets jackhammer. Their musical tastes are similiarly harsh and extended exposure would cause most normal humans to have a brain hammeorage. If one is spotted on the street, it is advisable to keep one distance as the creature is a) inebriated+on heroin and b) suffering from a massive inferiority complex bought about by its crudeness and lack of social skills, which causes extreme xenophobia and the likelihood of ass-raping any species not of its own genre.

Human 1: I saw this strange red haired creature yesterday. It smelled like a distillery and was attempting to ass-rape a sheep whilst emitting strange nasal grunts Human 2: Oh, it was probably a Scottish man trying to score some haggis

Like to wear kilts with nowt underneath them so they can expose their 2 inch penises.Kilted Klowns In Scotland" Fuck Off\! Well I am Scottish and I know that's naw true and I KNOW WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT\! "People who have back grounds and ancesters who are Scottish" I'm sorry but as someone who was born in and still lives in Scotland, I would say that people who are Scottish are only people who were actually BORN here. Other people can say that their ancestors were scottish.......but that doesn't make them scottish. To be Scottish, you must be able to agree to both of these: 1. Born in Scotland 2. Lived in Scotland There are different dialects of accents in Scotland. On the West Coast, our accent has been influenced by irish settlers yeeeeeeeeeeeears ago. We say words like "Aye .... naw .... wit ..... aye right ..... eejit ..... pure .... nae bother .... dae ..... hing ......... hingmay ..."and usually miss out the 'g' at the end of -ing words "daein' ....... talkin' .....drivin' ...... eatin'" Main football teams are Celtic and Ranger. Celtic supporters are known as Tims and Rangers are Huns.

I was born in Glasgow and brought up here in Scotland and have a scottish accent......therefore I am Scottish\!

A people who think they are cool and popular like the Irish are but in reality are nowhere near as popular and admired as the Irish. It is commonly thought that they may have invented the myth about a mythical sea dragon named "Nessie" that lives in as lake called "Loch Ness" to attract tourism to Scotland

The Scottish accent is harsh and unpleasing to some people. Unlike lush green Ireland, Scotland is much colder and mountainous. Latch onto the popularity of the Irish claiming "Celtic Brotherhood" when in reality, Where was all the "brotherly love" throughout History? when the Irish were being oppressed and persecuted by the British? Are a member of the United Kingdom but have a minority political party promoting independance as they see how much Ireland is thriving as an independant country. Have a ridiculously expensive parliament built with British taxpayers money.
